The owners of a beautiful historic farmhouse in Beallsville came to Wilets Architecture to design an expansive dining room, kitchen, and deck addition. A modern approach was taken to contrast with the existing historic building with a glass bridge created to lightly link the old and new sections. The project sailed through the review process with the Montgomery County Historic Preservation Review Board who appreciated the modern approach, leaving the historic building in its original state. Surrounded by windows, the owners now can cook, dine, and relax in a stunning light-filled space with easy access to the outdoors and ample room to entertain.
